Today is my moms birthday. She would have been 89, which is very hard to imagine! She died 20 years ago this Fall. I have a geranium plant that was hers, and a Christmas cactus that I have somehow managed to keep alive. They remind me of her. I also have a beautiful Norfolk island pine tree that my dent fiend Ione gave me when she died. It was about 2 feet tall then, but is now at least 4 1/2 feet tall! I look at these and am grateful for the things are loved ones leave with us and how they keep growing and blooming through time. Remembering Jean Shanesy Remke and appreciating the many sprouts she nurtured!
