Today is my sobriety birthday. Its something I dont think abut as much as I used to, because its such a part of my daily life that its almost unconscious. But when I first started I didnt think Id make it to six months. Now I look back and am amazed at how much time has passed. 27 years. Thats longer than many of us have been alive. And its longer than I would have lived had I not gotten sober. Im not here writing this to rah rah about myself. Im writing this to encourage someone else to imagine that maybe, just maybe, they dont have to hide. Life is so much better when youre honest about yourself, and there are wonderful people in the rooms who will support you every step of the way. I owe a deep debt of gratitude to all of them. Thank you!
