Today is my sons 6th birthday. I had a date with him this morning. Our 2nd date. I explained to him the significance of turning 6yrs. I told him what it means to be an Adubango, and what is required of him as a part of this team. I told him that being an Adubango takes hard work, much reading, concentration, knowing Christ deeply, pursuing God hotly, and loving from the heart. I told him that he has only 6 years left before he can be shot out as an arrow from our quiver. See, Jesus was 12 when he was found reasoning out scripture in the temple courts. Joseph left his fathers fold at 12 years and yet he managed to overcome temptation and to flourish in a foreign land. Bezalel, Daniel, Abednego, etc were all teenagers when they did the mighty exploits we read of. Last year, when Israel turned 5, the target was that he learns to read by the time he is 6. As we clock 6, he is reading very well. I must admit that it has taken hard work, but am grateful to Orel Vine International School for partnering with us to make this happen. This new phase of his life requires so much work. That is the reason why i started by explaining his need for Jesus, and he has confessed Christ as Lord and savior this morning . Now, off to learn the psalms and proverbs by heart, developing talent and building career.
