Today is my sweet mamas 89th birthday. When I told her how old she would be today she said, shaking her head, too old. Today also would have been her 71st wedding anniversary. Dont know if she will remember that or not...in her someplace she knows but the thought may not find its way to the outside. Dad was so thrilled last year to be celebrating their 70th and so many of you made that a special day by sending tons of cards. So I am counting on spill over from last year to carry us through today. She will miss him a lot today...every day..and as I plan my own Dec wedding, the grief for my dad is really hitting. So today we will laugh and celebrate Mom and Mom and Dad together...what a team! And there will be a few tears sprinkled in. Life is like that, isnt it? Time to laugh and time to cry all at the same time. And the better abled we are to embrace the grieving, the better we are at the laughter...cant cut off one without cutting off the other. Happy birthday, Mom. It will be a rich day with you!
