Today is my youngest baby girls birthday. Kara Hawkins, you were born to two young parents and had a baby sister waiting for your personality, your sweet baby face and your cuddliness. You were a joy but you also, as I like to tease, the child tested our young strength! You had colic, FOR 2 VERY LONG YEARS!! We could never be angry you were to precious. We loved your hair that was so crazy your Papaw called you Stanley from Laurel and Hardy! You were the child who Papaw stood and peeled potatoes and made you REAL mashed potatoes because you busted him trying to give you FAKE potatoes! You were 4! He NEVER peeled potatoes a day in his life until that was all you ever wanted. You started coordinating your outfits and shoes at 4. You had amazing thunder thighs at the age of 12 months and they never went away until you were three. Dad and I will never forget in England you went to the fridge, opened the door to get your slice of cheese saw we were out, slammed the fridge door hands on hips and yelled WHEREs THE DAMN CHEESE? You were 3. You were so excited to get a baby brother, was a little mother to him and always pulled his toe lint from his tiny toes. You loved him for one month then he was annoying. You are extremely intelligent, funny, a fabulous wife and mother, your friends love you wherever you are. You are the Perfect Marine Officers Wife! (Lol). I can proudly say you are a wonderful daughter. We had our perfect little family of five and all of us would agree you were stubborn, and knew what you wanted. Dad and I will never forget when we put you on the plane to fly back to the States to attend Ohio State! We were so proud to watch the first of our children receive their degree! I often think back to those days when we would walk Dana to school and you and I spent several hours by ourselves. You use to cuddle next to me and go through the Sears Catalog. We hope you have a wonderful 34th Birthday! I love you, Mom
