Today is one of my 3 favorite days on the calendar - the day I celebrate the arrival of my first born, Ashley Rose! (The other 2 are Feb. 16th - Carlees birthday & Nov. 25th - the day I married my very best friend, Jimmy!!) Ash, you have brought us so much joy over the last 23 years & as we celebrate the blessing of you today I was reflecting about all that has happened in your life in just the last decade: you became a teenager, represented Willmar in Atlanta as an All American City, started high school, started driving & got your first car, performed in more concerts, dance competitions & recitals, track & cross country meets than you can imagine, spent countless hours at the pool & hanging with friends, started dating (Jordan), went to 2 proms (with Jordan), babysat MANY kids, attended more baseball games than you could ever count (Jordans), graduated high school, held numerous jobs, represented Willmar as the International Princess, went on 3 cruises, graduated from Bethel, got engaged & married (to Jordan), honeymooned & then moved 14 hours away (with Jordan). Youve been blessed with some of the most amazing friendships & relationships and youve touched the lives of many, many infants, toddlers and children with your care & compassion. Along the way youve visited 29 states (adding 2 more next month:) and 3 countries...Wow child are you ever busy & extremely blessed!! It feels like a whirlwind of awesome memories, it truly has been an amazing ride thus far & I know theres only more treasured times to come!! I sincerely have loved EVERY moment of being your mom (starting at 9 months, ha!!) It seems a recurring theme that most of your special times (at least in the last 7 years) have included your very best friend & the love of your life, Jordan!! And so today, even though our home is too quiet on your birthday, I am SOOO thrilled you finally get to spend your birthday & your summer & the rest of your life (YES!!) where you belong, cheering on your hubby!! Enjoy your stay in Richmond, VA! You are an incredible support to him, a star at doing this baseball wife stuff & making all feel welcomed & included...and loving on every kid in OHIO. You are brave, strong & confident - and you make us proud. I am humbled that God entrusted me with you 23 years ago & that today you have blessed me with the gift of your friendship - you are a treasure my precious child, keep on Shining!
