Today is one of those days, even after being clean for a little while I wish I could be comfortably numb. Two years ago, I tracked down a lady who was my second mother. When I was 16 and had no place to call home she brought me into her home. She fed me, loved me and kept me warm and safe from harm. Until welfare got involved. See her two daughters had been molested by their father. Welfare told her either I had to leave (even tho I never touched her daughters and never would) or they would take her girls. So they forced her to turn me out. Funny I reached out to the welfare office sometime ago, and demanded a explanation as to why I was left on my own at 16? those records have been destroyed and no body knows a damn thing about it. (And people wonder why I am so pissed off most of the time?) Anyways back to my story, two years ago I was looking for my second mom, just to let her knows I had no bad feelings for her, and I was actually doing fine! I googled her name and a picture pop up and it was her! So I called the senior center she was active in and within a couple days I got a phone call from her!! I was SO HAPPY! We exchanged addresses, and she sent me a Christmas card! I was meaning to write her back, but life kept getting in the way. Then I got a phone call...there had been a fire at her house, and her and her beloved animals did not survive. less than 3 days later I got another card from her, and in it she asked me if I had written yet?
