Today is our Open House... Nittany Theatre at the Barn welcomes you to come on in for a little food and friendship! As the newest theatre in Happy Valley, we are eager to share our new venue with the community... More theatre means more opportunities for everyone: actors, techies, supporters, AND the community! Under the hopeful-wishful theory that theatre thrives in great communities (our role-model is sister city Ithaca, New York... a town of similar population, with great Universities, and LOTS of theatre!)... Given their model of community support for theatre, there is absolutely NO reason why MORE theatre cannot thrive in Happy Valley. Nittany Theatre at the Barn shall operate as a summer-stock theatre featuring a 3/4 thrust venue of 129 seats. With our three-week plus runs, actors/staff shall have the opportunity to really dive into their craft, characters, roles, and performances... and our audiences are gonna love it! Information about joining the Acting Company shall be released soon... Look forward to auditions in early Spring (March). We shall hold auditions at Penn State University (open to all students/and the community) and a second audition for the community (and all others). Times and places: TBA As the areas ONLY regional summer-stock theatre, Penn State students shall be able to earn PSU credits for their work at the Barn. YES, PSU courses for actors-tech-staff shall be offered on site! All roles are open to auditions. In the spirit of community sharing, inclusiveness, and unity, please come out to the Barn, see whats happening for yourself... Come join in the FUN!
