Today is our last born childs 18th birthday. Should we say today he becomes a man?! We are not ready for that yet with him. Its not because he is our baby....because he never was. His parents made mistakes. For the better part of his life we allowed work and other family members to take priority. In trying to make a better and a good life for him we let the one he was living slip by uneventfully. He has been so patient, understanding and accepting. We did not make our mistakes intentionally but there was always something or someone seeming to need or want more than he did. Now, he has outgrown us. It seems he went into his bedroom a small boy and by the time we took notice, he emerged a man who ( in his opinion only) doesnt need his parents to solve his problems, wipe his nose, hold his hand or keep him entertained. He has made it despite us and sadly without us. We are very proud of the person who is emerging from the sanctity of his room occassionally looking up from computer screens that were all to often his solice. We hope he understands and forgives us our imperfections. We couldnt be more proud of him especially because he has gotten there basically on his own. So watch out world...you will never see him coming..but mark our words this man is capable of making a difference. He will sneak up silently behind you and your eyes will be opened wide! Its been a wonderful 18 years with him despite the better part of them in hibernation on his part. We were watching and we were there maybe not enough with our undivided attention. We are hopeful that he knows the quietness of his life we allowed him was done so out of respect, trust and genuine love for him. We also want him to know that no matter how old he is if he ever decides he needs to be babied in any way his parents will be happy to oblige. Always...always know mommy and daddy are here for you, Pookie ! For those who have known him forever please join us in saying Happy Birthday brand new house broken. They will surely understand........on an extremly personal note from your mom....thanks for letting me still cut up your food sometimes!!!! Its almost like it means when all is said and done we didnt do half bad with you and youre gonna be just fine......Happy Birthday......We love you....
