Today is shaping up to be a pretty hot one out there, our first - TopicsExpress

Today is shaping up to be a pretty hot one out there, our first real hot day of the late spring, methinks. Still, on the good/bad scale, it is nonetheless a good day to be a gondolier (better hot than wet, in my humble opinion!) Lots of goings-on in Providence and surrounding areas this weekend, just like last, so I will start the reminders a little early this week: Of course the big event in Prov this week is Gay Pride, occurring on Saturday, 6/21, from 12p-11p on South Water Street along the Riverwalk. Check out prideri for more details. If you have the day free on Friday too, you might want to skip over to Newport to see the start of the Newport-Bermuda race, which is a bi-annual 635-mile race with over 150 boats competing. Most of the race is out of sight of land, but you can at least see the start near the Castle Hill Light at the mouth of Narragansett Bay. Details at bermudarace. I hope everybody is having a wonderful day today - see you on the water! Ciao, Marcello
