Died on December 8th, 1980, in New York City, New York, at age 40. Killed by Mark David Chapman. He was married twice, first wife was to Cynthia Powell, they had one son together, Julian. They divorced in 1967 after 5 years of marriage. Second wife was to Yoko Ono, they were married till his death, for 11 years, and had a son Sean.
