Today is the 410th anniversary for the first Prakash Utsav of ‘Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’. On this day Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji installed the Adi Granth Sahib at Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), Amritsar for the first time. Baba Budha ji was appointed the first Granthi (Priest) on this day at Harmandir Sahib. Bhai Gurdas ji completed the Adi Granth Sahib as dictated by Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji in 1604. It took him nearly 19 years to complete this task. He was tasked with inscribing the Adi Granth Sahib by Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji. Guru Gobind Singh Ji later added Shabads (holy compositions) to the Adi Granth Sahib and in 1708 affirmed the Granth as the perpetual Guru of the Sikhs as Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
