Today is the Childrens Defense Fund Freedom Schools National Day of Social Action, and Im honored to be giving remarks at the closing ceremonies for Marlboro County Partners CDF Freedom Schools Program! Each year, CDF Freedom Schools sites across the nation join in a National Day of Social Action. They engage their communities to take action on a relevant social issue for children. This year, the issue is investments in early childhood development. My vision for the 7th District and our nation includes providing world class education and job training, starting with fully funding universal pre-K because every child deserves a strong start.
