Today is the International Day of People with Disability. 15% of the global population has a disability, and people with disability and their families are disproportionately affected by poverty. Australia is recognised internationally as a leading donor in disability-inclusive development. Our aid strategy promotes disability-inclusive education by helping remove physical barriers through our investments in infrastructure, enabling people with disability to access services. Australia supports disabled people’s organisations in developing countries, which play a vital role in giving people with disability a voice.
