Today is the anniversary of one of the saddest days in my life. My friend and fellow animal lover died tragically trying to save one of our rescued dogs she was fostering who ran out on her pond and she went in after Hairy. Hairy was a little shih tzu who was abandoned when his owners moved and left him to starve to death in the basement of their house when they moved. Hairy was Evelyns project dog, malnutrition caused him to lose most of his hair and the mold he endured didnt help either. With great pride she nurtured him and his hair grew in and he gained weight. She was so proud when he was finally healthy enough to be neutered. Which he was only weeks before he also died. The best friend to me and the animals. I would tell her this dog is in trouble and she would say lets get him or her. I miss her so much and cant pass her home without thinking of that horrible frigid day. Hairys body was not recovered until months later. God bless you my friend. I will always treasure you.
