Today is the beginning of 30 Days of Biking, as I’m sure you (as my Facebook friend) are aware. However, it’s also the end of kicking 30 Days of Biking off, and that’s a complicated endeavor! So, I have some thank-yous and some gratefulness to express. 30DOB’s a homegrown effort, assembled by very passionate Minneapolitans, and I love them! Here they are: Anthony Ongaro – Haver of awesome ideas and provider of Red-Bearded Social. Righter of wrongs. Tweeter of excellence. Ginny Marie Herman – The Party Director. One of the loudest (literally) and most passionate advocates for bicycling community in Minneapolis. Charlie Hield – 30 Days of Biking’s resident hacker. For his kickass web development. Jesse Daniel – Our new designer, whose work spread our cyan far and wide this year! Beautiful designs. Pictorial Review Jackson – The Editor in Chief of our new blog, with daily posts every day in April. Wrangling contributions from 30 people is no small feat. Kurt Stafki – Our Marketing Director. He took our strategy in a new direction this year, and made our pledge something bigger. It’s a beautiful thing. Mario Macaruso – A constant inspiration. A red-bearded dynamo. He leads 30 Days of Biking’s rides, and he’s amazing. Matt Lenning – New to the team this year, Matt’ll help with producing content that tells you about our sponsors and their awesomeness. He makes us feel old. Matt Perkins – For his project management, his ride marshaling, and his ultra deep voice, which keeps us all in check. Pete Basgen – The partnership builder. The sponsorship man. The guy among us who most passionately refuses to wear a helmet. Also, thank you to Nola Grzadzchoo. Because being with me during all this is probably (definitely) difficult! A final thank-you to everybody who has helped us spread the word in 2014. At 6,000+ pledges, we’ve more than doubled our participants this year. Which puts us on track for 200 bikes to Free Bikes 4 Kidz. That is FANTASTIC.
