Today is the beginning of National School Bus Safety week (October 20th thru 24th). The Sturbridge PD will be participating in Operation Safe Stop and will be on the lookout for drivers who disregard the law, especially around school buses. We urge the motoring public to be cautious when driving near school buses. Safety is the main priority as always and children are vulnerable when entering or exiting a school bus. Drivers who refuse to yield to a stopped school bus put our children in harms way. Any school bus violations observed will not be tolerated by the SPD and will be subject to a civil citation.
