Today is the day! I finally get in to see my neurologist at 7:45 in the morning. Hopefully he can shed some light on my back pain and maybe even finally get my insurance to approve my MRI which they have denied twice even after the appeal process. I wish I could say I am going to reach my weight loss goal by my 40th birthday but without being able to exercise much anymore I am not sure if that is going to happen. I will say that I am not gaining any of the weight I have already lost back, which is a good thing, but I am definitely not where I wanted to be at this point. I have set a new goal however and I have just under a year to prepare. I talked to my brother Jeff Harper yesterday on the phone. 6 years ago he and his wife came to visit me when I lived at the Grand Canyon. It was the first time we had seen each other in about 10 years. While they were there we went hiking on the Bright Angel Trail. We went down to the Mile an a Half Marker and turned around and came back up. a little over 1000 feet in elevation change on the switch backs. At the time I was pushing if not already over 350lbs. With the help and encouragement of he and his wife I made it ever so slowly out, but I did it. Having my brother there made it mean that much more to me. So back to the new goal I still have not mentioned. I still have my Membership to Anytime Fitness and will be spending the next 11 months preparing. Next year during the 3 week break between my Spring and Summer Semesters of college, we are going to do a Warrior Dash. May 16th, 2015 in Maryland. I will not win First Place. I will definitely slow my brothers pace down, but having him there encouraging me each step of the way as I reach a life goal of fitness and self determination will be better than the medal, helmet, and free beer I get at the finish line. https://warriordash/location/2015-warrior-dash-maryland/ #WarriorDash
