Today is the day I switch to a plant-based, or vegan, diet. To fuel my motivation, I watched FORKS OVER KNIVES again and started my journal using the Day One app. My DR wants me to record food, steps, how I feel, etc. I like Day One because I can add pics and can export and print my journal. I have charged my Fitbit back up. When starting a new diet, it is natural to think about what we can no longer have an mourn it. Like that I will no longer enjoy French Triple Creme Brie Cheese. Even so, I think it is strange that we - some of us, ok I - view food choice changes differently than other changes we make. For example, I dont disco dance any longer and I dont wear tube tops. I dont play the trombone, bugle, flute, or spoons like I used to. I dont run or play tennis because of my arthritis. I enjoyed all these things but I have moved on. And the same goes for foods made from animal products. Moving on. I already enjoy many things associated with a vegan diet and I look forward to discovering more each day. To celebrate this new beginning, we will be going to the Pepper Tree restaurant for lunch, which is one of our favorites and is 100% vegetarian. urbanspoon/r/8/114866/restaurant/West-Loop/Pepper-Tree-Veggie-Cuisine-Houston.
