Today is the day! Jasmines House volunteer, Beth Stevens, is headed to the boarding location RIGHT NOW where Animal Rescue Corps Operation Deltal Dogs are being held. Beth and her dad will pick up Lady Maybelline and start the long journey up to us here in RI. They will drive straight through and are scheduled to arrive sometime in the early evening. We are so excited we can hardly stand it! Once here, Maybelline will spend her RI DEM-mandated five day quarantine here in the Handsome Dans Rescue office but dont worry, she wont be lonely. We have enlisted a group of volunteers to sit with Maybelline from early morning until late at night until she is cleared to come out of quarantine and move to her foster home with Amanda and Dan. We are so very thankful to each of the volunteers who will be pulling shifts in the office keeping Maybelline company! Tonight, my mom and dad will be with her, making sure she is settling in and doing their best to calm any fears. Today will be a day of so many firsts for this little fight bust survivor: first car ride, first time on her own away from other dogs, first time settling in on a couch, first time sleeping in an office. But dont worry Maybelline, we will wrap you in so much love. We will do our best to help the memories of your past life fade. Nothing but bright days ahead of you now. Please join me in thanking Jasmines House volunteer Beth Stevens and her dad for giving up their weekend to make the round trip journey for Maybelline, and to thank the team of volunteers who will be spending the next five days caring for Maybellie while in quarantine.
