Today is the day, my Mother felt pain. Twisting and turning, deep - TopicsExpress

Today is the day, my Mother felt pain. Twisting and turning, deep breath again. Then after a few slow hours, there came a boy Aboriginal & Islander, little bundle of joy. They bought him home to a sugarcane barrack And there he grew, with bandicoots, snakes and parrots. He had sisters before him, and sisters after. The tenth child of twelve, from there after. Looking back then, I heard laughter. Now Aboriginal & Islander are finding it harder. Ive seen a shilling change to a cent. Ive seen a inch change to a metre. Ive felt the Act, Ive seen signed permits Ive traveled with cattle, to other missions. Ive sang God save the Queen, And Advance Australia Fair. Ive seen organizations come in different wrappings Native Affairs, DNA, Aboriginal Affairs, and Nac days. Ive seen ATSIC arrive, I was at its funeral when it died. Ive been treated invisible, so what is there to RECOGNISE? So I wrote a song called Yil Lull There I placed my Honor and Sovereignty. A song with its moral, a song for community. Lets give our flag this melody, and let it fly for you and me. In our every day lives, lets wipe away suicide. Sing your heart out Nunga Koori and Murris. Noongahs, Island man, and South seas. So here it is the 7th of June. two thousand and fourteen, Sing your freedom tune.
