Today is the day the Southern University Board of Supervisor select the interim Chancellor. I can admit that the level of faith I have in this selection is skeptical at best. Why should it be any greater than that we have seen the product of this board as a whole and know fully what to expect from them. Today also they will discuss the value of being in the SWAC. Both discussions are interesting to say the least. Southern University is on a very dangerous road. Plague with nepotism and friendships. I reviewed the agenda for the alumni conference and although I am going there is no emphasis on workshops and opportunities for alumni to engage with the leadership to express how we feel. You can not just want our money and not our opinions and thoughts. It simply does not work like that well at least not effectively. Long are the days where folks have to attend and support SU we must give folks a reason to want to do so.
