Today is the day we honor our Veterans and to remember the sacrifices they have made for our freedoms. However, we cannot just remember them on Veterans day but should thank them and honor them every day of the year. My grandfather Ernest Burt Greuel and my dad, Burt Weston Greuel, proudly served in the United States Army. I still remember my grandfather choking up every time he talked about the friends he lost and how he never forgot them. Lets make sure that we all double our efforts to help our homeless veterans - we cannot let these numbers continue to grow. I spoke to Judge Harry Pregerson yesterday and thanked him for all that he has done to help homeless veterans over the years. I still remember going to the VA with him years ago and sitting in a circle talking to Veterans who shared with us their hopes, dreams and the challenges they faced. Happy Veterans day today and always.
