Today is the day we members of the Seattle Astronomical Society - TopicsExpress

Today is the day we members of the Seattle Astronomical Society elect our next President. Interestingly enough, this is the first time in years that more then one person has run, and I am one of them. This is a win-win for me, because no one has expressed an interest in running for VP of Publicity, so I will likely default to that board position, if not elected to the top post. My competitor and I have already expressed a mutual interest in working together on the board in whatever capacity the members choose for us. This man, Jeff Dunn, used to run the Treworgy Planetarium at Mystic Seaport (the setting for the movie, Mystic Pizza), so I feel somewhat like Im running against Carl Sagan, but its all good. Im so pumped, Im going to say it, again... ITS ALL GOOD! :D This meeting is open to the public, but only members can vote. I would love to see some familiar faces there, tonight. (Hint, hint. ;) ) Its at 7:30PM at the Physics/Astronomy Auditorium (PAA), Room A102, on the University of Washington campus (near 15th Ave NE & NE Pacific St). seattleastro.org/events/189
