Today is the feast of Samhain, during which it is customary to remember those who have gone on before us to the next life since LAST Samhain. Personally, my mind is on: Scott Norton (who still has a facebook page, it seems) who was responsible for introducing me to both science fiction fandom AND D&D, and who was a good friend, advisor and confidant since my freshman year of college -- a long time, but not long enough. We lost him New Years Day. Joe Bethancourt, bard, story teller, and A GOOD MAN, all the way around. We were never as close as I might have liked, but his music made a huge difference to me. Peter Paddon, who we just unexpectedly lost last week -- a blessing and miracle to his wife, Linda, a teacher and friend to many, and a calming presence on the other. He will be missed. . . . Im sure there are many Ive missed. Please add your own, and any I should have remembered. Then, there are the four-foots: Tegan, The! Happiest! Puppy! In! The! World! -- I didnt get to see her nearly as often as I might have liked in the more recent years, but the first time she grabbed onto me and wouldnt let go, when I picked her up from the pound, or the hours I spent in her younger days with her on my lap watching TV will always be with me. Aonghais, Tanyas second-oldest big ol black tom, who was taken from us by a brain tumor in less than a month earlier this year. Meeper, Siren, Ghost, Angel and The One We Hadnt Named Yet. -- Kittens we knew for far too short a time, but who left their marks. Please add anyone I should be remembering, and may those memories lighten grief. Jim
