Today is the first day after second phase of plastic surgical repair of my nose that has experienced 3 procedures and is hopefully now cancer-free! When I awoke, I was shocked by my swollen lips, nose, cheeks and eyes. A cocktail of ice, lots of water, gentle massage and elevated head should help. The word wonder is the card I chose from the Today, I Choose inspirational cards. Oh the wonder of the human body as it responds to a surgical assault. The wonder of the spectacular surgical skill of my surgeon, Dr. David McKenzie that can transform and reposition body cells like an architect of human tissue. But then putting those aside and finding a different meaning to the word wonder is interesting. Its interesting and creates wonder when we consider that often in life things have to get worse before they can get better. Have you discovered that in relationship issues? You can choose to refuse to heal those issues OR you can courageously face them, experience the swollen and painful process of removing the hurt by letting go of the past and bridging the gap in the hopes of healing the cancer of conflict and misunderstanding. The wonder of healing human relationships is so worth the fear involved in momentary discomfort that comes when we surrender ourselves to making things better!
