Today is the last day we need to worry about the kittens upstairs - TopicsExpress

Today is the last day we need to worry about the kittens upstairs on the left, coming down with distemper. They are running and playing and their mama’s other daughter, due to have kittens in a few days joined us today. Another daughter 8 days ago and her three kittens perished from distemper. I can start to bond with them, I must always distance myself from a kitty family that might die; the pain is too intense! Air conditioners hum in all our rooms, keeping them at an even 73 degrees. Downstairs the new three week old kittens can be heard sucking on their wet food, and at times reluctantly taking milk out of a bottle. Our milk is not as good as mama’s milk, we have been told by unhappy kittens frequently. The toddlers use the litter, sit in it, and then cry because they want their hiney cleaned with a warm wash cloth and dried. Mama used to handle that so much better too. They are either holding their weight or gaining, so all is well. Tonight five more kittens will join us, and five more the next week, from two feral mama cats. The kittens must be four weeks or less so that they can be tamed easily. Hot day today, but cool in our house now, thanks to our ductless heat pump. Have had it six years, and it not only saves electricity, but is sooo comfortable. Granny Kat, Norma
