Today is the staffs last day in Perry County! Tomorrow we will be heading to Johnson City, Tennessee, to celebrate our year of service with ASP staff. Here is an update on all Chavies staff from the last year, and what adventures they are embarking on this fall: Steve is now working with commercial and residential construction in Seneca, South Carolina. The Overfelt family have been enjoying their new surroundings, and the kids start school in the next few weeks! Michael is moving to Louisville, Kentucky, where he will be studying at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a Masters of Divinity candidate with a Biblical and Theological emphasis. Tim is moving to Des Moine, Iowa. He is looking to obtain an Americorps position. Lauren will be starting her freshman year at the University of Chicago in September. She is excited for her undergraduate career to prepare her for her eventual dream of going to law school. Karissa is moving to New York and is exploring different career opportunities with hunger, homelessness, and faith-based outreach in the non-profit sector. She is excited to learn more about the needs of the community she grew up in! Amber is starting her sophomore year at the University of South Carolina, where she is studying Sports and Entertainment Management. She is excited to use her experiences from this summer to serve in her college community. Josh will be continuing to serve with ASP and looking for new ventures with construction or poetry. As always, he will be making a positive impact with whatever journey he embarks on! On behalf of the entire ASP Chavies staff, thanks for doing something with us this year. We hope to see you in the mountains again soon! #ASPChavies #ASPHome
