Today is winter solstice in Ecuador, which also means it is one of the most important holidays in South America - Inti Raymi which is an Inca religious celebration for Inti - the god of sun. While the largest events is just outside Cuzco, Peru there are celebrations in indigenous communities all throughout the Andes. I am heading to Ingapirca, an Inca ruin a few hours from Cuenca. For those of you in the Northern Hemisphere enjoy summer solstice!
