Today isnt just Halloween, its Ripper the Freakin Clowns birthday. Yes, Ripper--the visionary, the renegade and the rogue--is ONE year old, believe it or not! One year ago tonight, Ripper was born with a vision of doing something so unique and so bizarre that it defies convention ... however, this reluctant clown was momentarily struck with stage fright, but went on stage anyway thanks to the support, encouragement and words of the following people: (in no particular order) Richard Wentz, Jesse Tuttle, Justin Tuttle, Andrew Voris (who was dressed as a naked man in a flag for some reason), Rich Castle (Beetlejuice), Jessica Coburn, Emily Barwald, Nick Martin (as Groucho), John Rose and Jesse Day. Yes, on that particular night, I had an amazing support team behind me! In the interim, Ive received amazing praise after every show (youre a cartoon character come to life ... Not knocking any of the other comics tonight, but if anyone should be doing this on a national level, it’s you. No one else even came close to you ... I love the unpredictable nature of what you do, I never know what to expect ... Holy shit, dude, how much of that was true?) and these wonderful, flattering compliments make me proud of what Im doing and make all that stress on that first night well worth it.
