Today it feels like a certain kind of hell.... one where the evil - TopicsExpress

Today it feels like a certain kind of hell.... one where the evil has left. The air quality is poor (travelling East) and it smells like a forest fire. There are 4-6 people (cadets) on every corner directing traffic in a virtual ghost town. There are fighter jets heard every so often. There are countless cars with (makeshift) police lights and continual ambulances. Last night, ambulances with full sirens were heard up until midnight, some 15 hours later. There are ambulances now at 5:30 p.m. And there are countless stories. Our office managers brother-in-law was on the 105th fl. and he is missing, a person came in and told us he was on the 20th fl. ..... It was good weather day and we saw a lot of people sitting in Gramercy Park (which usually requires a key and ive never been in there with more than 3 people). My French girlfriend who just got back from Paris could hardly believe it when i said there were no b@mbs. Fern was still in the second tower when IT hit. She was leaving from the impact of the first tower. Until i told her today, she didnt even know that the second tower actually fell first. A lot of people arent clear with some of the details. All the papers were sold out today even. My friend called me from Switzerland 3 .a.m. (the soonest she could get through) hysterically crying. We almost lost her months ago when she attempted suicide. I told her that her friends here were fine. We are her family. It was horrible to be woken up, which meant i would twice have to process that information. I cant imagine waking up every morning crying. When you see someone laughing , i dont know, one wonders if things would ever feel the same. (the days after 9-11-01)
