Today it was a privilege to host the first-ever Mental Health First Aid training for veterans in Kansas with the University of Kansas, and the National Council on Behavioral Health. The Mental Health First Aid training was designed for veterans, family members, and those who work with veterans and their family members. All participants received certification as a Mental Health First Aider. This training gives folks the tools they need to not only identify if a mental health issue is developing, but also help someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis. Mental Health First Aid is a vital resource that can make a real difference in the lives of our veterans, their families, and their community.
