Today kicks off Digital Citizenship Week. Digital Citizenship is a concept which helps teachers, technology leaders and parents to understand what students/children/technology users should know to use technology appropriately. In other words, it is the norms of appropriate, responsible technology use. We begin the week with Cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is the use of digital media tools, such as the Internet and cell phones, to deliberately humiliate and harass others, oftentimes repeatedly. Here are two great information sheets catered towards elementary and secondary students. Please read over them and use them to start a discussion with your children. Elementary Cyberbullying Family Tip Sheet (https://commonsensemedia.org/sites/default/files/uploads/pdfs/k-5-familytip-cyberbullying.pdf) Secondary Cyberbullying Family Tip Sheet (https://commonsensemedia.org/sites/default/files/uploads/pdfs/6-12-familytip-cyberbullying.pdf) For more information on please visit the Wylie ISD website (wylieisd.net).
