Today, lets conduct a poll about forgetting. While we almost - TopicsExpress

Today, lets conduct a poll about forgetting. While we almost universally agree that we should forgive, there are two schools of thought about forgetting. One school (the forgetting group) says we should forgive and forget in order to move on. They cite a scripture like Philippians 3:13 which urges us to forget the things that are behind and reach forward to the things that are before. The second school (the remembering school) submits that forgetting is a recipe for repeating your mistakes. They argue that a person who forgets the dynamics of an offence could easily get hurt again because they fail to learn the lesson. They also insist that forgetful people are ungrateful. They quote several verses on remembering like Isaiah 46:9, which says, Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me. Which of the two schools do you belong to and why? Which one comes closest to your personal philosophy - forgetting or remembering? Share it with us and we will, with your permission, read it out tonight on Springboard, your virtual university tonight.
