Today marked the 34th consecutive day without a murder for my hometown of Macon, GA. It may seem asinine or even foolish to celebrate this achievement, but the preceding week was marred by 4 homicides. I believe in the ability of people to change, and am happy the initiative has been introduced to preach non-violence to the otherwise disenfranchised residents of some of our less wealthy neighborhoods. If no one else shows faith in those who are susceptible to a life of crime, then how can we expect them to stray from their seemingly inevitable path? Even a small step in the right direction is pleasant departure. So, to hell with all this I believe talk about soccer, and start believing in the good nature that lies within all us. Thats how we fix our problems. Peace.
