Today marks SIX years since the Keystone XL Pipeline permits were submitted for approval. SIX years we have waited for a project that will have limited adverse environmental impact, create thousands of jobs, inject billions of dollars in new spending for our economy, and has more than 70-percent of the American peoples support. It is well beyond time the President put his pen to good use and sign those permits. However, there is hope that we will not have to wait any longer on the President... Yesterday, we passed a provision that would not require the Presidential permit to start this project. I hope the Senate understands how important a project like the KXL would be for our countrys economy and energy independence.
