Today marks eleven years that that Tanya York and I have been serving the Lord at Buck Run Baptist Church. We are in awe of Gods favor in calling us to this marvelous church, a church in which the sweet aroma of Christ always hangs in the air and the knowledge of Gods grace permeates every worship service, every conversation, every relationship. Ive never seen a place that looks so much like heaven. Distinctions that seem to separate segments of society become causes of celebration and cohesion as they come before the cross of the Lord Jesus. When our sinful lives have been shattered together on the rock of Christ, so have they together been restored and intertwined by his glorious gospel. I have enjoyed the love and support of my late predecessor, Dr. Bob Jackson, the unwavering encouragement and support of the deacon fellowship, the constant care and partnership of my fellow pastors and staff, and the grace and love of my brothers and sisters in Christ, my church family. I have never asked anything of you that you have not given, nor led anywhere you did not willingly follow, nor taught from the Word what you would not thoughtfully accept. Whether walking through our own personal tragedies or triumphs, you have been stalwart to sorrow or rejoice with us, somehow knowing perfectly when to give us space or to hold us close. We fully intend to be here for years to come, but we want to pause to express our gratitude to our beloved church family and to our gracious, loving Father for allowing us this privilege and pleasure.
