Today marks the 13th anniversary of the Terrorist Attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and those unable to attend special observances throughout the area can have a personal silent observance at the site of the Wayne County 9/11 Memorial in Honesdale at the corner of Court and Ninth Street in front of the historic Dimmick Building. The County 9/11 committee encouraged people to place at flower at the site to remember those who died and those who worked so diligently at the crash sites in New York City, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC. Thursday is Patriot Day and all flags are to flown at half –staff, a moment of silence is to be observed at 9:15 am no matter where you are.
