Today marks the 20th year since one of the biggest decisions in my life came about; when I had to drop out of my third year of medical school due to debilitating allergies and dysautonomia. The symptoms back then were very numerous. My weight was down to 129 pounds (I am 62), dry-heaving 50-60 times a day, body wide itching, blackouts when I turned my head too quickly or stood up, blood pressure all over the place, orthostatic hypotension, muscle spasms, couldnt walk 10 steps without having to take a break due to fatigue, diarrhea, nauseated every waking hour until 8 PM, etc., etc., etc. (many symptoms are not necessary to mention!). But by the grace of God I have come a long, long way. Integrative medicine (supplements and other), major life changes, and awesome family support (and Dr. Kroker!), have helped incredibly. I thank God for the promise in Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose which I have experienced, noted, and observed many, many times over through this all. I am not in the medical field like originally planned, but I am definitely where I am supposed to be in college education. Thanks to all who never gave up on me! (like many medical doctors did back then)
