Today marks the 4th year since my second accident. Before my second accident, I thought my purpose in life was to put a puck in the back of a hockey net. This momentary satisfaction is what I thought defined me in terms of success. This accident has not only made me realize what truly matters in life, but has without a doubt made me a better person. When Tucker Mullin and I founded The Thomas E. Smith Foundation, we knew we had the ability to do something special but we never imagined that we would be spearheading a foundation that has officially gone international in just 4 years. The Thomas E. Smith Foundation is on the pressure pistons of changing the game of hockey to help reduce head and neck injuries from happening. Our idea of installing a warning track inside of hockey rinks has gained international attention and continues to grow daily. We also have EDM sensation Krewella spearheading our Dance for Paralysis division to help us take our message and donations worldwide!!! I want to sincerely thank each an every person who has helped me in any capacity since my first accident on August 2, 2008. Without you I am not where I am today and without your support my foundation is nonexistent. My promise to you and those in wheelchairs is that my team and I will continue to work as hard as humanly possible until each and every person that suffers from paralysis regains FULL mobility. Please continue to follow us and check back often for updates! Thank you again! #TeamCureParalysis justcureparalysis.org
