Today marks the 60th anniversary of Lt. Frank Greenes death. Lt. Greene was shot and killed by three men who were in Coronado to commit an armed robbery on October 12, 1954. The officer stopped the suspects vehicle in the 600 block of Orange Avenue where they then shot him. On Tuesday, City Council presented the Greene family with a proclamation recognizing the fallen officer for his bravery and courage, and dedication to the Coronado community.
