Today marks the end of an era for the WOWK-TV and West Virginia Media family. Today we say goodbye to my co-anchor, mentor and friend April Kaull, as she moves on to bigger and brighter things. Its hard to believe how fast time has flown by. Ive now worked with April 11 years, between working at WVNS 59 in Beckley and at WOWK. At 10-years-old, running around the company, April always had open arms and helped me with anything. Shell kill me for saying this, but growing up, I would always watch her on the statewide anchor desk of West Virginia Tonight Live. Never in my wildest dreams did I think Id share the anchor desk with her for the past two years at 13News and be her fill-in on Tonight Live. Over the years, April has taught me so much about this business and how to become a better journalist and anchor. Shes been a great mentor, co-anchor and dear friend. As a friend once said, broadcasters never say goodbye, they just go to commercial. Be sure to watch her final broadcast tonight at 5:30 on Tonight Live! We love you, best of luck and knock em dead in Morgantown!
