Today marks the end of my 30 day Change Challenge. In 30 days, Ive shared 12 key tips to help you make a change in your lifestyle. If this month wasnt the right time for you to take on the challenge thats okay! These tips are timeless and will always be available to you. Good luck and Happy Canada Day! 1. Think of a change you want make. Give the goal life and yourself a sense of accountability by writing it down. 2. Create a vision board – let your vision for this goal fuel your passion to achieve it. 3. Write a list of obstacles that invoke fear of change or might stop you from accomplishing your goal. Reflect on your own or talk with friends about how you can overcome these obstacles 4. Take 5 minutes to think about a time you’ve let a bad habit, thought or feeling stand in the way of you achieving your goals. Breathe in, and as you breathe out, let go of that negative feeling..this is a new moment. 5. Consider your language. When you think of changes you want to make, mantras that being with “I commit” and “I will” are action statements verses desired statements like “I wish” 6. Don’t procrastinate - killing time murders opportunities 7. Take a minute out of your day to actively and intentionally compliment yourself and your progress towards your goal. Even if you’ve “broken the rules” a few times, re-enforce the positive. 8. Drink and eat healthily – for example, staying properly hydrated maintains blood sugar levels and increases concentration, thus helping you achieve your goals and live a generally better life. 9. Find an accountability partner who will support you in your progress and help you stay on track 10. Expect AND accept a period of “storming” or struggle before desired habits become a “norm” 11. Keep things consistent. If you want to eat more healthily, for example, and are maintaining a food chart as a step towards doing so, try things like setting an alarm to remind yourself to fill it out so you can stay consistent 12. CHOOSE HAPPINESS! Change doesn’t happen overnight, but we can actively choose to find positivity in our progress every day.
