Today marks the end of my internship at Fairbanks. Soon I will be continuing on to the next step in this journey. My time at Fairbanks was highly challenging and sometimes downright heartbreaking, but then it was also insanely rewarding. Seeing the kids truly realize how good they felt being sober and fighting for their right to a place in this world; to just chilling and playing UNO; to all the hugs goodbye as they went on their way, has been a blessing in my life. And being able to really help staff get stuff done as they guided me and let me take risks to develop my own style. I value all that theyve taught me, celebrated with me, and challenged me to make a difference. I hope to see them again someday.
