Today marks the end of my stay at the Dauphin County Court House - TopicsExpress

Today marks the end of my stay at the Dauphin County Court House and I have to say, its a fairly bittersweet departure. On one end I can finally return to my life and go back to work for full paychecks. But on the other side of the spectrum I lost 11 new friends and wish I could have established some kind of line of communication with them to continue the friendship! For 10 days, 9-10 hours of which we never left the room, even for lunch, we came together and bonded, both about the trial and about our own lives. Some of us found how much in common we had, others found that theyve known each other all along. We had different ideas about the case, but we never let it come between us personally. We shared a lot about our lives with each other, whether it be my upcoming wedding, or someones recent surgery, or stories of the passed. I was the youngest in the group being only 20 (next up was 29, and thereafter was at least 45) yet everyone kept my ideas equally as anyone else. I did find myself being asked a lot of Do you remember... and Was this around... types of questions and to the surprise of the others I could answer a lot of the questions with yes. The Judge was great and most of the attorneys were too. They helped us stay focused and answered a lot of the questions we had. Id like to thank all who were there, the tip staff, judge, other jurors, and both the plaintiff and defendant parties. You actually made me want to come back and experience this another time. Now though, I find myself thinking of lifes situations in a court-based setting using a lot of lingo (finding a hard time not to in this post) Ive heard, which puts a fun spin on life. In a final note Id like to thank my fellow jurors and say that you will always be in my memory and considered a friend. Id also like to note that I was ready to punch one of the attorneys by the end of the first week and things only got worse by week two. Most others in the court could probably agree on that topic though!
