Today marks the event of a rare eclipse we will experience in many continents across the world. In Africa the eclipse starts South West of Liberia, through Gabon where it will travel in a path nearly 60 kilometers wide. Then it will head through the Congos, through Northern Kenya, through Northern Uganda and finally Ethiopia and Somalia. However most of Africa will see the partial phase of the eclipse, weather permitting. Tourism businesses in the key areas are taking advantage of the local and international excitement over the phenomenon. In Northern Uganda for example the Tourism Minister, Maria Mutagamba, has stated that up to 30,000 enthusiasts have expressed an interest in travelling to the region for the event, with 10,000 already confirmed by mid October.
