Today marks the official end of my term as a Virgin Islands Senator representing the district of St. Croix. I get asked often what it was like, and my response is usually this: it was a mixed bag. Some days were downright awful, and some were so fulfilling because I got to help people in ways I never thought I could. I now know why many dont offer themselves for this type of public service; its hard to live under a microscope 7 days a week. Its also hard to accept the slow pace at which things move...I had hoped to accomplish a lot more than I did. However, I can honestly say I gave it my all, and it was an honor to serve. To all of you who voted for me in 2012, thank you. To all of you who supported me no matter what, thank you. To my dedicated staff, THANK YOU. To St. Croix, I LOVE YOU.
