Today marks the start of principal filming for season one of the home-grown comedy, “Alien in West Texas.” This show is the joint effort of West Texas Talent, New Hero Pictures, and a dedicated, local cast and crew. “Alien in West Texas” will be shown on the West Texas Talent Channel on YouTube for seven weeks starting April 28, with a premiere event to be held at MCM Grande Fun Dome on April 19th. “Its always great to see a group of people come together for one project,” said Christopher Jones, owner of New Hero Pictures. “Alien in West Texas will be a lot of fun, and its a great way to showcase local talent here in the Permian Basin.” The show follows Richard Daniels, a very liberal, opinionated Yankee, as he is sent by his stepmother, Barbara, from New York City to Odessa to help manage the Great American Insurance Company. He hopes to motivate his office to sell and provide support for Obamacare, and to convince them that it is a good thing. Richard may have met his match, however, with the wide range of characters he meets in West Texas. “Alien in West Texas” is written and directed by Daniel Ryan, produced by Daniel Ryan and Christopher Jones. The project is made possible by a grant from the Odessa Arts and Humanity Council and business sponsorships. The cast includes Zoe Alvarado, Cynthia Alvarado, Rachel Branham, Bree Carrasco, Jose Castillo, Marchette Dewberry, Dayra Esther, Sarai Flores, Zane Samaniego, Christopher Jones, Eric Juarez, Vitale Justice, Sarah LaMascus, Kris Moore, Jennifer McNeely, Avri Rodriguez, Daniel Ryan, Travis Steele, and Mark Tenniswood.
