Today may be the first day of spring, but theres still a chill in the air...and that means theres still time to make a good gumbo! Tony Chachere’s Seafood Gumbo Makes: ½ gal Prep Time: 25 min Portion: 12 oz Serving Temp: hot Ingredients: 3 tbl Butter ½ cup Diced onions ½ cup Diced Bell Pepper 1 tsp Minced garlic 5 cups Water 1 package Tony Chachere’s Gumbo Base Mix 1 lb Crawfish Tail Meat 1 lb Shrimp (peeled & deveined) 1 lb Crab Claw Meat (picked through to remove shells) 2 each Green Onions, Sliced 4 cups Rice Directions: 1. In a medium pot on high heat, add butter and sauté onions, bell pepper, and garlic until onions are translucent. 2. Add water and gumbo mix. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. 3. Add Shrimp and bring back to a boil and let simmer for 5 minutes 4. Add crab meat and green onion and simmer for another 5 minutes 5. Serve over hot steamed rice. Enjoy!
