Today met with local Aberfeldie residents concerned about the lack of consultation over the planned upgrade of Riverside Park beside the Maribyrnong River by the City of Moonee Valley. Two key matters for locals is the planned construction of a new car park opposite their homes and the removal of the existing roundabout at the intersection of The Boulevard & Fawkner Street. Riverside Park along the Maribyrnong River is a unique and special place which Council has made substantial investment in most recently with the popular new Pirate Ship Playground. Indeed locals from all over our municipality attend this park for its beauty, facilities and general amenity. Ive written a letter on behalf of the locals I met today outlining their concerns and suggestions. As Riverside Park is an asset for our whole community I urge everyone to have their say on the planned upgrade at mvcc.vic.gov.au/riversidepark
